Have Mercy are a four-piece indie rock band from Baltimore, Maryland. Influenced by a variety of post-hardcore and emo acts, singer/guitarist Brian Swindle, guitarist Andrew Johnson, bassist Nick Woolford, and drummer Todd Wallace released their first EP, My Oldest Friend, in early 2012. Mixing warm acoustic tones and strong vocals with heavy emo elements, the band launched several D.I.Y. tours, quickly developing a national presence. Signing with Boston indie Topshelf Records, they released their debut album, The Earth Pushed Back, in May 2013. The album was well received by critics and fans alike, and in 2014, Have Mercy signed with vaunted indie Hopeless Records, which released their second LP, Place of Our Own, later that year. Working with producers Paul Leavitt (All Time Low) and Brian McTernan (Thrice), Swindle and a rotating crew recorded the band’s Hopeless follow-up, Make the Best of It, which was released in early 2017.
