Emerging in 2021 with an album of home-recordings titled Western Spaghetti, the south London based project, fronted by songwriter Cai Burns quietly gained underground popularity. What began as a solo project with folkier leanings gradually evolved into a collaborative unit which became heavier, slower, and harder to pin down; blending ragged indie rock, dreamy synths, and glitched-out textures. Since then, Blood Wizard have built a devoted following across the UK and afar and have become a fixture of London's DIY scene.

Following 2024's Grinning William, 2026’s Lucky Life finds Blood Wizard at their most confident and expansive. Over country-fried lead guitars, Burns' dry, understated delivery anchors songs that feel deeply personal yet, poetic and abstract. The result sits somewhere between a house show and a late night fever dream. The EP is less interested in big statements and focuses more on the people, places and passing thoughts that shape everyday life, further refining a sound that feels entirely their own.
