Immersion are an electronic project led by Colin Newman (of Wire) alongside Malka Spigel (of Minimal Compact).

Formed in the 1990s, Immersion explore atmospheric, rhythmic electronic music that sits between ambient, post-punk, dub and experimental sound design. Their work is textured and immersive (fittingly), often built on looping structures, layered synths and subtle rhythmic pulses rather than traditional song forms.

In recent years, they’ve re-emerged with projects like Nanocluster, collaborating with artists from across indie and experimental scenes — bringing a more song-driven edge while keeping their hypnotic, transportive core intact.
